(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Turkish forces have killed at least 712 fighters from the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in the Afrin region of northern Syria, Ankara stated on Wednesday.
Among the 712 fighters allegedly killed, the Turkish Armed Forces claimed that 63 members of the YPG and ISIS were ‘neutralized’ in the Afrin region on Tuesday.
Despite their claims of killing ISIS militants in Afrin, the terrorist group currently has no known presence inside this region.
Furthermore, the pro-opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) contrasts these claims by the Turkish Armed Forces, claiming that only 85 members of the YPG have been killed since the inception of Operation Olive Branch on January 20th .
